Carlin, Paul Felingham, Mike Docherty and Mark Lake. Sorry Mark the photographer missed your goal.

West Kirby FC 3 - Airbus FC 3

|
| More action from the game with Airbus. |

|
| Action from the pre-season friendly with Airbus. |
West Kirby fell behind 1-0 to a dubious linesman's decision after 20 minutes
but pulled level via a Chris Barrow goal, before going into the break 2-1 ahead through a JP Stanhope goal direct
from a corner kick.
After a number of team changes at half time a goal keeping mistake enabled Airbus to draw level. West Kirby fell behind
2-3 after poor defending but pulled back level 10 minutes from the end after substitute Dean Stewart rose at the far post
and headed across goal for Matty Cass to head home. Overall the final resul 3-3 was a fair result in this pre-season friendly.

| Phil Hudson's penalty in the pre-season friendly with Bangor. |

|
| Chris Barrow's second goal in the pre-season friendly with Bangor. |
West Kirby went into their first pre-season friendly after just one training session - and it showed
- as Bangor raced into a 3 - 0 lead after 20 minutes, thanks to a series of defensive mistakes. West Kirby slowly came back
into the game and Chris Barrow scored with a looping header just before half time to go into the break 3-1 down.
After John Brett’s half time talk West Kirby came out for the second half playing much more like themselves and began
take the play much more into the Bangor half, winning a penalty which Philly Hudson converted. Bangor broke away and scored
to make it 4-2 but West Kirby began to assert themselves, scoring again through another Chris Barrow header and Bangor were
on the back foot as the game drew an end.

Luck favoured West Kirby in this hard fought Wirral Senior Cup Final. It is fair to say that Heswall had the majority of possession
but couldn't convert their few chances, including a scrambled clearance off the goal line by the West Kirby defence. Goalless
at half time, West Kirby played better after the break and fortune favoured their attacking ambition via an own goal from
a deflected Matty Cass shot.

| Paul Casey's goal against Runcorn Town. |

|
| Matty Cass's second goal against Runcorn Town. |

|
| Matty Cass's penalty against Runcorn Town. |
West Kirby came from behind to win this championship decider. Runcorn took the lead midway through the first half from open
play after penalties were awarded and well taken by both teams. Matty Cass scored the West Kirby penalty. Runcorn restricted
West Kirby to very few chances and went into the half time break 2-1 up. West Kirby scored almost from the kick off with a
headed goal from Matty Cass to level the scores. West Kirby created more chances and went ahead from a corner by Paul Casey
which went directly into the goal. Runcorn kept up the pressure on West Kirby - who found more space as Runcorn pressed for
another goal, but West Kirby ran out worthy winners.

Blacon Youth Club 0 - West Kirby 2

|
| Chris Barrow's goal against Blacon Youth Club. |
West Kirby welcomed back their dual strike force of Chris Barrow and Liam Atherton and played the best football of the first
half. The two goals came from Kyle Jones (photographer deleted it by mistake, oops!) and Chris Barrow. Two disallowed goals
prevented Chris Barrow from getting a hat trick, as West Kirby shut up shop to secure all three points.

New Brighton 1 - West Kirby 1

|
| Lee Cairns scrambled goal against West Kirby. |
A poor performance from West Kirby against a determined New Brighton side - who had manager Jason Aldcroft sent off midway
through the second half. A wrongly - in our opinion - disallowed goal frustrated West Kirby who saw New Brighton take the
lead late on in the second half. A final push from West Kirby rescued a point through a goal claimed by Lee Cairns.

West Kirby 1 - Poulton Victoria 1

|
| Paul Casey's goal against Poulton Victoria. |

|
| Snowstorm during the match with Poulton Victoria |
West Kirby dropped two points in atrocious conditions, not helped by a series of bad misses in the first half. Paul Casey
scored West Kirby's goal and also hit the crossbar with a fine shot. Surviving a disputed penalty, well saved by 'keeper Bobby
Mclaughlan, West Kirby couldn't create second half opportunities against Poulton Victoria, a wicked swirling wind and a snowstorm.

West Kirby 1 - Vauxhall Motors Reserves 1

|
| Andy Barker's goal against Vauxhall Motors Reserves. |
A poor second half performance after a comfortable first half, saw Vauxhall Motors Reserves equalising through a penalty.
West Kirby missed forwards Chris Barrow and Liam Atherton, missing through injury and suspension, with Andy Barker scoring
West Kirby's only goal.

|
| Andy Barker scores West kirby's fist goal following up Paul Casey's free kick |

|
| Andy Bolton's goal against Poulton Victoria. |

|
| Matty Cass's penalty and third goal against Poulton Victoria. |
A lacklustre display from West Kirby saw Poulton Victoria have the most of the possession over 90 minutes. Poulton Victoria
opened the scoring and West Kirby left it late before Andy Barker followed up a free kick by Paul Casey to score the equaliser
and take the game into extra time. A superb effort from Andy Bolton gave West Kirby the lead in the first period of extra
time and with Poulton Victoria pushing hard to equalise a quick break by Paul Casey saw him brought down in the penalty area,
Matty Cass scoring the resultant penalty. Poulton Victoria pulled one back just before the end, resulting in an anxious final
2 minutes for West Kirby before the final whistle.

West Kirby Reserves 0 - Poulton Victoria Reserves 1

|
| One of the few chances West Kirby Reserves had against Poulton Victoria Reserves |
Poulton Victoria Reserves took all three points from a hard fought game after scoring from a debatable penalty early in the
first half. Both West Kirby's goalkeepers (a substitute in the second half) made good saves to keep the score down as the
forwards were unable to take the chances that came their way.

West Kirby completed a comfortable win over New Brighton on a very windy afternoon. Chris Barrow was again instrumental in
setting up goals, this time one for Lee Cairns in the second half, the other for Liam Atherton midway through the first. Andy
Barker scored the other two goals. New Brighton started the second half strongly and after being awarded a penalty managed
to place it high and wide.

Saturday 9 February
West Kirby 2 - Aintree Villa 1
This was a very very poor game. West Kirby struggled to get going as the visitors fought for every ball, taking a one
goal lead. Manager John Brett's tactical changes saw West Kirby move to a three man defence with centre half Lee Gibson pushed
into the attack. This paid off as they equalised through Matty Cass and a late winner 10 minutes from the end by Lee Gibson,
a brave diving header through many feet. After this Aintree Villa lost their composure and had 2 men sent off, both for 2nd
bookable offences.

A hat trick from Liam Atherton secured all three points for West Kirby to maintain their lead at the top of the table, with
assists from Chris Barrow and Ged Grannon. West Kirby survived a couple of goalmouth scrambles in the first half and heavy
pressure at the start of the second half before two second half goals enabled them to dominate play.

Christleton Reserves 0 - West Kirby Reserves 1
This was a low key performance from West Kirby Reserves after last week's superb win. A touch of class came from man of
the match Paul Stevenson, who scored the winning goal. Excellent performances from Christleton's right back and goalkeeper
restricted West Kirby reserves to the one goal scoreline.

West Kirby Reserves 1 - 0 Heswall Reserves 0

|
| Rob Stewart's goal against Heswall Reserves. |
West Kirby Reserves held out for a win after a very hard game against Heswall Reserves. Playing with the wind at their backs
in the first half, West Kirby forwards and defenders pushed up to take advantage of the long ball held up in the wind. Rob
Stewart scored for West Kirby from an excellent free kick floated into the six yard area which drifted over the Heswall keeper.
Heswall Reserves were the dominant team in the second half missing a series of chances, as did the West Kirby Reserves' forwards.
However West Kirby Reserves held out for a very good result.

Ellesmere Port 0 - West Kirby 4
A hard fought goalless first half against battling Ellesmere Port - who made it difficult for West Kirby's forwards. After
the break West Kirby came out more determinedly and started to take control. The first goal came from a Chris Barrow goal
bound effort which was handled on the line by a defender, the resulting penalty was scored by Matty Cass. West Kirby then
took complete control against 10 man Ellesmere with further goals from Liam Atherton 2 and a screamer from substitute Terry
Cotgrave. Only a series of magnificent saves from Ellesmere Port's keeper kept the score at 4.

This was a satisfying win against a very well organised Marine Reserves side. Restricted to a one goal lead at half time -

and reflect West Kirby's dominance.

A game dominated by West Kirby, taking 24 minutes to break down Ashville's dogged resistance. Credit must be given to Ashville
who kept working hard all game but who were no match for the West Kirby forwards. Goals came from Lee Cairns 1, Liam Atherton
2 and 3 from Chris Barrow, his second goal a delicate lob and his third pure power from a striker on fire. It could and should
have been double figures in the end.
